Huge discounts from the Teaching Company

by Anna Blanch on January 12, 2009

JT at Between Two Worlds has a link to a great offer this month from the The Teaching Company that I had to share with you (even though I am trying to refrain from posting on weekends).

The course, Building Great Sentences: Exploring the Writer’s Craft is a series on 24 lectures (30 minutes each) on DVD, taught by Professor Brooks Landon of the University of Iowa. It’s usually $254.95 for the DVDs, but if you enter the code 32318 you can get it for $44.95.

I was introduced to The Teaching Company materials through a couple of friends whose parents used them as supplemental materials while they were in highschool. I watched the Victorian Britain series with a group of Graduate English Students and we were very impressed. Be warned they are content heavy, with low levels of multimedia – no snazzy dramatic reconstructions – just the facts, ma’am.

Apparently for the rest of the month most of their courses are heavily discounted and anyone can use the code above. So, take a look
