A PhD sized challenge: who’s in?

by Anna Blanch on October 27, 2010

November is National Novel Writing Month. Last year I participated in the offshoot, National Blog Writing Month. This year, I’m jumping on a different wagon, that of treating November as a Thesis Writing Month! A friend of mine, Katharina, who writes over at Tea, Cake, and Sandwiches suggested this idea and I’m in!

Who else would like to join us?

The challenge is 50,000 words in the month.

Which works out at 1666 words a day.

Katharina figures, and i think she’s fairly well on target, that we’ll probably end up having to discard about half of what we write (at the end of the month) but no matter which way you look at it, this could break the back of that thesis, or novel, or article you’ve been trying to write.

So, as i asked before, who’s in?
