London calling: You should come too!

by Anna Blanch on September 30, 2011

Can you get to London on October 15th? If so, you should come along to CNMAC11 – otherwise known as Christian New Media Conference 2011. There’s already 250 signed up to attend a great day exploring practical, creative, and theological aspects of digital media use by Christians generally and by the Church (and individual Churches). They still have room for more participants! And the cost for the day is incredibly good value for the content and the facilities!

It’s also great opportunity to meet with a great group of thoughtful & creative people which is the part I’m always most excited about.

I’ll also be there as a panellist in the #digicreatives breakout session on #digicreatives in practice. There’s a whole raft of panellists from different fields chaired by Jonathan Kearney and alongside Vicky Beeching and James Robinson among others. I’ll be there to talk about literature. The schedule looks great all round, particularly the theology stream!

Jonathan Kearney – chair and digital arts
Vicky Beeching – music
Katherine Green – dance
Anna Blanch – literature
James Robins
on – drama

Seriously, you should come! If you are coming, why don’t you let me know on twitter! If you still need convincing, you can find a full list of speakers for the conference over on the official CNMAC11 website.

But wait, there’s more!

Remember those corny 90’s telesales advertisements? Well, this time it’s true. So much happening at the moment – I might even have a job hunt update early next week (if I decide to document it… ;)) – but I have some other fun news to share.

TranspositionsTranspositions, now only just a year old, has been named a finalist for the Christian New Media Awards. Last year, we were runner-up in the Newcomer Blog category when the collaborative project was just 4 months old.

This year, we’re one of 9 blogs named in the finalist list for the top award, Best Christian Blog.

We’re pretty excited about being in such great company – the list of finalists is an impressive group to be numbered among. Now I just need to find a dress for the awards! Anyone want to help me with that?

Here’s the full Finalist List:

Why don’t you take a look at some of these and see what you think?
