Poetry of E.Nesbit: Eastertide (1888)

by Anna Blanch on February 19, 2011

This poem sits on one of the first leaves of one of Nesbit’s earliest published works, Eastertide (1888). It was published by E.P. Dutton & Co.

A Golden halo floats
above the hills.
And Spring hath touched the
crisp brown woods below,
The cuckoo loudly calls, and
birds build nests.
When orchards gleam beneath
their tinted snow.
