Blessed are the Encouragers

by Anna Blanch on February 29, 2012

Everyone has their own battles. Sometimes I feel like the daily struggles I’m dealing with need to be put in perspective. Every challenge I face at the moment is as a result of a decision I’ve made or an opportunity I’ve taken up. My burdens are much lighter than many, even when they feel like they could crush me with the weight of my own expectations.

It is all pin pricks and pennies

I didn’t quite realise how much stress I was under (and putting myself under) until I had a couple of weeks of feeling like the work was coming on well and  much welcomed visitor to offer some encouragement, perspective, and much needed moments of fun. To wake up without the wretched feeling of guilt pulling at the pit of my stomach.

And my oh my, how much we all need encouragement – the words that you are believed, you are hoped for.

The power of those words: You can do it. You will do it.

How much then can you imagine the damage of being told you cannot, or will not. How much poison are you injecting into the hearts and minds of children you speak so over. If I have a prayer today, it is this: Encourage. Love. Hope for.

When you are hoped for, when your dreams are nurtured and allowed to blossom, anything can happen.

Are you an encourager? If you are part of a church, or a community of any kind then you are part of a possible community of encouragement.

I enjoy offering encouragement to others, but lately I’ve been in great need of encouragement myself. Those who have reassured that I can do this have offered me a great gift.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this post. It was exactly what I needed to read this morning. You’ve reminded me how important it is to share words of encouragement with others. I don’t always comment, but please know that I treasure your words. Thank you.
